Phimosis is a condition which is mostly suffered by un-circumcised males, and refers to their inability to retract the distal foreskin over the Glans of their Penis. It is seen in all age groups from infant to adults. Generally, 96% infants are naturally born with Phimosis. During child birth and the first few years of life, the inner part of the foreskin is adhered to the glans and hence it is non retractile. This condition, separates gradually over time leading to increased retractability. Phimosis is considered to be a true Phimosis, only when medical intervention is necessary after the age of 14 years.
